My GPS recorded 10.3 miles. 400 ft e levation change repeated once.\nElevation: 8480 at the trail head. The high point of the hike is 8800 ft. at a Meiss Pass or Carson Gap at t he 1.4-mile marker, which divides the American River drainage from the Truckee.\nParking Fee: $5/car.\nFlora: Super-tall flowers typical of Carson Pass: Giant Mountain Larkspur,  Paintbrush & Lupine.
