  only Nina got the close-up photos. Nobody saw the mama but other hike
 rs mentioned seeing a large blond bear in the same area later. Only wo
 men made it out to Rancheria Falls in the pouring rain. It was so muc
 h fun. Unusual not to see snakes or reptiles of any kind on the trail
 . Too wet. The amphibians were out instead. We remarked that it was th
 e easiest effort to Rancheria Falls in our experience. Also, no cars 
 parked in the day use lot in the morning aside from ours. Saw many, ma
