No dogs on this one.\nWeather: Clear, low seventies.\nDescription: 8.6 mile strenuous loop up the Mi st Trail to the top of Nevada Falls and down the John Muir Trail, but a rock slide on the John Muir caused a detour back down the Mist trail which shortened the hike to 7.4 miles for most of us. Elevation: 40 00 ft.at parking lot, 5900 ft at the top of Nevada Falls. We'll reach 6000 ft. on the John Muir Trail for a total elevation change of 2000 f t.\n Dinner: Tailgate at the parking lot.
