Trip Notes - YNP: Cathedral Lakes

Weather: Sunny and in the low fifties.

Fee: $30 park entrance fee or pass.

Parking & Trail Head: The shoulder of Tioga Road in Tuolumne Meadows at Cathedral Lakes trail head.  

Moderate 7 to 10-mile up and back on the John Muir Trail, including both lakes, the lower lake spillway and some cross-country.

Elevation: Trail head is 8500 ft. with about 1000 ft. elevation gain and loss. 

Dinner: Nick served hot cocoa and brandy at the trail head. Dinner was at Cocina Michoacana in Groveland.

Notes: Beautiful, sunny day. Icy in the shade. Met new friends and old friends from other hiking groups. Discovered Halloween is a great day to visit the park.
