Trail head: Hwy 108, the narrow pull-out just before the 9000 ft elevation sign.
Description: Strenuous 6-mile out and back via use trail to Blue Canyon Lake and cross-country to Deadman Lake with steep areas with some scrambling and loose scree to negotiate. To continue to Leavitt Peak is more difficult.
Elevation: Trail head: 8900 ft., highest point before Deadman is 10,600 ft for a gain of 1700 ft. Leavitt Peak is 11,573 ft.
Trailhead & Parking: Pullout on the side of the road just before the 9000ft elevation sign on Hwy 108, Sonora Pass Road.
Dinner: Trail gate at the trail head.

This was a tough call, because I love this hike! Got my ticket for Picnic at the Pops! Have a great hike!
