Trail head: Mitchell Canyon park entrance.
Land Status: Mount Diablo State Park.
Fee: $6.00/hike.
Weather: 62 degrees and misty at the trail head. 52 degrees, foggy/cloudy and breezy at the peaks. The sun came out occasionally.
Elevation: 580' at the trail head, 2946' on Mt. Olympia, 3557' on North Peak for a 2977' elevation change.
Mileage: Between 9.1 and 12.0 depending on the group and wrong turns taken.
Trails: Coulter Pine, Back Creek, Tick Wood, Cardinet Oaks, Olympia, Zippe, East, North Peak, Bald Ridge and either Eagle Peak or Back Creek.
Difficulty: Strenuous because of the almost 3000' elevation change and the mileage.
Fauna: A herd of wild turkeys, some raptors and a couple of banana slugs.
Dinner: The Guadalajara Grill in Clayton.

Comments: Muddy in the beginning. Cold on the peaks and ridges. Good weather for a strenuous hike. Great snacks before and after the hike. Started at 9:55am. The 12-milers finished at 4pm, the rest of us, 5:15pm.
