Trip Notes - Sky to Limantour Beach, Point Reyes

Weather: Low sixties and mostly sunny.

Meeting Place: Bear Valley Visitor Center.

Trail head: Sky Trail off of Limantour Road.

Description: Moderate 8-mile incomplete loop from the Sky Trailhead to Limantour parking lot via Sky & Woodward Valley Trails and Limantour Beach. Dogs are allowed on Limantour Beach but not on Point Reyes trails. Steve and Dave shuttled hikers back to the trail head.

Elevation gain: 433 ft.

Elevation loss: 1176 ft.

Some of us camped at dog-friendly rain-soaked Olema Campground in spaces 127 & 128.

Campers met day hikers Saturday morning at Bear Valley Visitor Center.

No fees.

Dinner: The Station House in Point Reyes Station.

Comments: It rained at the campground for 24 hours straight until 10pm Friday night. Was concerned about Rain for the hike but Saturday was beautiful. Jacques wasn't allowed on the trail but his feet didn't touch the ground until Eric hit the beach. Dinner was excellent at The Station House where we celebrated Nina's birthday. Great food and service. Sunday morning in Olema was sunny and became very windy.
