St Mary's Pass to Iceberg Meadow

This is a challenging ~12-mile through-hike with a 1000 ft elevation gain and a 4000 ft  elevation drop. 

Trail head: 9436 ft.

St Mary's Pass: 10,426 ft.

Clark Fork Meadow: 9132 ft.

Boulder Creek crossing: 7051 ft.

Iceberg Meadow Parking area: 6464 ft.

Must be able to read a map, hike cross-country, perhaps scramble down rock faces, keep up with the leaders/navigators.

General Description: Hike 1.3 miles on trail up to St. Mary's Pass, skirt around to the west to avoid the granite headwaters of the Clark. Cross-country to find the best slot to descend to Clark Fork Meadow. Once in the meadow, look for rock cairns to guide you as you travel north following Clark Fork. Eventually you'll find an established trail. Once you cross Boulder Creek it's three miles on a well-used trail to Iceberg Meadow/Clark Fork Trail Head.

There will be a car parked for you at Iceberg Meadow.
