Event Description
Photo: Ponderosa Pine at Dewey Point.

Weather: 54 degrees and sunny.
Trail head: Parking is on the shoulder of Glacier Point Road just east of the McGurk Meadow trail head.
Description: Moderate 7.8 to 10.5 mile up and back to Dewey, Crocker and Stanford Points.
Elevation at trailhead: 6,900 feet.
Dewey Point Elevation: 7,200 feet.
Crocker Point Elevation: 7,100 feet.
Stanford Point Elevation: 6,659 feet.
Entrance Fee: $20/car or annual pass.
No dogs on this one.
Dinner: Cocina Michoacana in Groveland was packed so we went to Cafe Bravo in Oakdale.

Comments: Icey. The trail was icey and several people fell. We welcomed six new hikers to the group. The weather was perfect; sunny and no breeze at all. Scattered dad's ashes at the base of the Ponderosa Pine in this photo.

What time do you think we will be done with the hike? My daughter has to work in the evening but I'm not sure we would be back in time. I will be coming either way. I'll ride up with Debbie Gerhart probably.
