Trip Notes - Table Mountain

Weather: Partly cloudy in the low sixties. No rain with a 60% chance.

Trail head: Dirt lot at the west end of Shell Road.

No parking fee.

Route: Because of the recent rains we hiked the road rather than the trail to the connecting Table Mountain trail. Once on top we hiked off trail for 5.3 miles total.

About 500 ft. elevation gain.

Flora: Goldfields are beginning to bloom, Butter and Eggs, Wavy-leaved Paintbrush, one Monkeyflower clinging to the cliff.

Dinner at Cafe Bravo.

Notes: This was our back-up hike to YNP's Horsetail Falls which we couldn't do because of an evening road closure. We arrived at the trail head at 8:30am and finished the hike before 1pm. The temp was perfect for hiking.
