Trip Notes - YNP: Upper Yosemite Falls

Weather: 46 to 57 degrees, mostly sunny and breezy at the top.

Trail Head: Camp 4 parking lot and new overflow parking lot.

Fee: $30 per car park entrance fee or annual pass.

Mileage: Up and back; 7.0 miles to the top of Yosemite Falls, and 9.4 to the top of Yosemite Point.

Elevation Gain: 2600 to to the top of Yosemite Falls, 2969 feet to Yosemite Point.

Difficulty: Strenuous because of the 126 switchbacks and elevation gain.

Flora: Lupine, Paintbrush, Purple Milkweed.

Fauna: Ravens, Steller's Jay, Deer, Ground Squirrels, Centipedes.

Dinner: Trail Gate at overflow parking lot.

Participants: (14) Dale, Danielle, David, Tracy, Don, Steve, Hugh, Christina, Julie, Morgan, Jill, Aey, Connie, Becky.

Comments: Perfect hiking weather. Free admission day so the trail was pretty crowded. Water was abundant. Vernal creeks and waterfalls were everywhere. Evidence of snow from the night before appeared at 6200 ft.
