Trail head: Big Basin State Park Headquarters.
Entrance Fee per car: $10.00.
Trail Head Elevation: about 1000 ft. The lowest elevation is about 400 ft, the highest, 1350 ft.
Description: A moderate 10.3 mile CW loop w/ repeated elevation change. With his extra wanderings Gary racked up 12.2 GPS miles.
Weather: With a forecast of 40% chance of rain, we had clouds and sun in the mid-sixties with sprinkles at the end of the hike.
Flora: Coastal Redwoods, Trillium, Oxalis, Woodwardia.
Fauna: Birds, Western Fence Lizard, Banana Slugs.
Features: Berry Creek, Silver, and Golden Cascade Falls. Also the Coastal Redwoods on the Redwood Nature Trail.
Dinner: Blue Rock Shoot in Saratoga. Reasonable prices. Liberal on the wine.

Notes: We welcomed Michael Booth and the Calvillo family to the group. Four-month-old Lizzy stole the show. What a hiker she is! The trail was a little crowded and the falls were running lean but the hike route was just lovely. The temperature was perfect.
