Trip Notes - Lewis Creek Hike Alternative

Weather: Smokey and about 72 degrees.

Trail Head: Lewis Creek off of Hwy 41

Fee: None

Description: 3.5 miles total for both Corlieu and Red Rock Falls along Lewis Creek, upstream and downstream. Elevation at trailhead: 4000 feet. 
Flora: Scarlet Monkeyflower.

Dinner: Pot luck at the parking lot.

Comments: This was an alternative to our back-up hike, Dewey Point, for the hike we couldn't do, Sonora Peak, because of the smoke from the Rim Fire. The wind had changed, blowing smoke into Yosemite, eliminating the possibility for Dewey Point. We drove a lot. We welcomed new hikers Alma, Teddie and Rita to the group.
