Trip Notes - Mt. Diablo: Mitchell Canyon

Trail head: Mitchell Canyon in Clayton

Weather: Overcast and about 60 degrees.

Elevation: 590 ft. at trail head, 2369 at Eagle Peak Summit.

Mileage: Proposed was 7.5 mile loop, but we did about 9.5 miles up and back on the fire road.

Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous 1700 ft. elevation gain.

Transportation: car pool.

Fee: $6.00 per car for parking.

Fauna: Cottontail Bunny.

Dinner: The Taqueria in Weston Ranch.

Comments: It took too long to get to the end of the fire road to continue on the trail. Only Nick made the full loop. The rest of us returned on the fire road. The Taqueria was pretty terrible.
