Trip Notes - Relief Reservoir/ Grouse Creek

Weather: Sunny and mid-seventies.

Trail Head: Kennedy Meadows Trail Head Parking is 1.75 miles from the marked trail head. I included that distance in the hike mileage.

Description: Moderate 8.7 mile up and back with 1370 foot elevation gain and loss. The Cabin People began their hike from the west side of the reservoir and crossed the dam.

Trail head elevation: 6330 ft.

Highest Trail elevation: 7700 ft.

Fee: None.

Dogs were welcome.

Flora: Scarlet Gilia, Jewelflower, Death Camas, Sierra Stickseed, Snowplant.

Dinner: Small pot luck at the trail head.

Canine: Lucy, Rocky & Maggie.

Comments: We missed the Cabin People because Nick took that group to the cove beyond Grouse Creek. We also lost track of La Verne and James as they took a spur trail toward the dam. The lake was refreshing.
