Weather: Less than 70 degrees and overcast.
Trail head: Sunrise Trail at Tenaya Lake.
Fee: $20 YNP entrance fee or pass.
Elevation: 8150 ft. at trail head, 9926 ft. at the summit.
Mileage: 14.5 mile out and back.
Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous with a 1775 ft. elevation gain and loss, repeated.
Flora: Crimson Columbine, Mountain Violet, Giant Red Paintbrush, Mountain Heather, Rosewort.
Fauna: Chipmunks, Golden-mantle Ground Squirrels, Mule Deer.
Dinner: Pot luck at Olmstead Point to get away from the mosquitoes.
Participants: (12) Doug Meredith, Don Mulcahy, Jeanette Farley, Barb, Hayes, La Verne Self, Ralph Medema, Chuck Flores, Jie Lundquist, Tim Shea, Duncan Fuller.
Comments: This was the height of mosquito season. Ralph suggested dining at Olmstead which was pest free. Overcast made for comfortable hiking but not good photographs.

I would like to bring my son Sean on this hike. We would like to carpool, and I do have a pass to get into the park. Benefits of getting older. LOL Am looking forward to the hike and meeting the group.
