Weather: Clear & hot. Over 80 degrees mid-day. Pleasant in late afternoon.
Trail Head: Bear Gulch Day Use Parking Lot, The Pinnacles National Park east entrance.
Fee: $5.00/car entrance fee paid at the visitor's center, or national park pass.
Description: Moderate 6.1-mile loop through Bear Gulch Cave and up High Peaks Trail, completing on Condor Gulch Trail.
Trail Head Elevation: 1260 ft. The highest point is 2628 ft.
Flora: Parched Bush Poppies.
Fauna: Thirsty deer and wild turkeys. Only two glimpses of condors.
Dinner: Build-A-Burrito Bar at the trail head.

Notes: Fourteen new hikers. Probably the hottest hike we've done. No rain at the Pinnacles in over a year. Stefanie & Rita did 8 miles. Ralph, Nick, Nina and Mike did over 7 miles. Unknown how many miles rescuers Elisa and Conrad did. The burrito food was delicious as usual. Wish all could have partaken.

Yay! My first hike with the group. And I'm bringing my husband, Chris, and daughter, Rebecca as well. I can't wait to see the condors!!
I've never been to Pinnacles, but have always wanted to see this National Park.
