Photo: Snow fall at Nevada Fall switchbacks.
Trail Head: Curry Village parking lot.
Weather: Fifties to Mid-forties. Partial sunshine, snow and rain.
Mileage: 9.6 mile semi-loop via the Mist Trail and returning via the John Muir Trail.
Elevation: 4000 ft. at the trail head and 6100 ft. at the highest point on the John Muir Trail for a 2100 ft. change.
Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous depending on one's physical condition.
Fauna: Mule Deer, Peregrine Falcons and nest with two juveniles, California Ground Squirrels, Golden-Mantle Ground Squirrels, Steller's Jays.
Flora: Granite Gilia, Sngle-stemmed Groundsel.
Fee: $20 per vehicle park entrance fee or pass.
Dinner: Pot luck was called because of rain but we had a few snacks, wine and Margaritas.

Notes: The snow on the way up the switchbacks was a real treat. It was too bad that our pot luck was rained out.

We don't feel sorry for you, Tracy! Have a great time in Kauai. Plenty of hiking and backpacking opportunities there.
