Trip Notes - YNP: White Wolf to Harden Lake

Weather: Sunny and chilly at 50 degrees with storm clouds moving in mid-afternoon.

No dogs on this one.

Fee: $20 park entrance fee or pass.

Trail head and parking: Tioga Road at White Wolf Road gate.

Description: Moderate to Easy out and back hike to Harden Lake and the surrounding area for views of the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne. 600 ft elevation change. About 9.5 miles total.

Dinner: Cafe Bravo in Oakdale.

Comments: Harden Lake was very low. Some hiked down to the vista point while the rest of us hiked cross-country to the knoll to see the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne, Mt. Conness, Shepherd's Crest, Matterhorn Peak and the Sawtooth Ridge. We walked through the Rim Fire burn. After the hike, the temp dropped, clouds moved in and the wind picked up.
