Add more mileage by hiking around the lake and walking in Tuolumne Meadows. Trail Head: ** Because Tuolumne Meadows Campground is closed we’ll park and hike from the Tuolumne Meadows Visitor Center. Down and back 12.3-mile trail following Yosemite Creek from Yosemite Creek Campground to the top of Yosemite Falls. Strenuous because of the mileage and the 530 ft elevation gain on the return.* Because it will be a warm day, most of us can hike all the way down the Falls trail to the valley floor which reduces the total mileage to 9.8.
