Fee: $6 per car.
Weather: High fifties at the trail head, mid-forties on the peak. Sunny to partly sunny all day.
Elevation: 580 ft. at the trail head. 2369 ft. at Eagle Peak summit. 1789 ft. change.
Mileage: 7.8 mile CCW loop on fire roads and a single track trail.
Trails: Mitchell Canyon Rd., Meridian Ridge, Eagle Peak. Mitchell Rock.
Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous because of the 1789 ft. elevation gain and loss.
Flora: California Fuchsia, Willow, Alder, Coast Live Oaks, Maple, Buckeye, California Bay, Coulter Pine, Sagebrush, Poison Oak, Toyon, Yerba Santa, Chamise, Juniper, Currant, Black Sage and grassland.
Fauna: A herd of wild turkeys and a coyote relieving himself.
Dinner: The Guadalajara Grill in Clayton.

Comments: Excellent weather although chilly at the picnic benches. Delightful trail through the sage and chamise. Started the hike at 10:10am, the last of us came through at 3:17pm. Good pace.
