Elevation Gain: about 1000 ft.

Weather: Sunny and 66 degrees.

Mileage: About 6.5 mile partial loop and cross-country.

Fees: $20/car YNP entrance fee or pass.

Fauna: Pika, Belding Ground Squirrel, Ptarmigan, Clark's Nutcracker.

Flora: Mountain Sorrel, Rosy Sedum, Little Elephant's Head, Swamp Onion, Dwarf Monkeyflower.

Dinner at Whoa Nellie Deli in Lee Vining.

Notes: Perfect weather and beautiful terrain. Lucky to spot and videotape a Pika at Middle Gaylor Lake. Interesting structures at the Great Sierra Mine. Some mosquitoes. It was a treat to ride in Jackie's '74 Mercedes 450SL Red Convertible. Also, the fish tacos at Whoa Nellie Deli were divine despite what Nick says.
